Project updates

Hanson is working for Thales Broadcast & Multimedia Inc. as the facilities architect/engineer for the expansion of an existing Kuwait medium-wave station. The project is being developed by the International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) and includes the installation of surplus U.S. government-owned transmitter equipment and the construction of new short-wave antennas, which will facilitate long-range broadcasting in the region.

Hanson is providing indoor air quality services for the state of Florida. Work on this contract involves HVAC testing and analysis, including studies and designs to upgrade and replace HVAC systems in state government buildings throughout Florida that are affected by indoor air quality issues.

Hanson is providing bridge design services for a portion of the $1.5 million bridge replacement on Sarah Street over Interstate 64 ramps in St. Louis, Mo. Hired by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Hanson is responsible for a unique, two-span, cast-in-place, voided slab bridge that will replace the existing Sarah Street structure over ramps to and from I-64.

The U.S. Department of Energy selected Hanson to provide architectural, civil, electrical, geotechnical, structural, and mechanical design and construction administration services for the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Ill.

Improvements to Daytona Beach Community College’s campus are set to get underway with the renovation of several buildings. Hanson’s West Palm Beach, Fla., office is leading our company’s efforts on this $9.3 million project.




The Hanson team’s design for the development of a Ceremonial Capitol Avenue was recently selected by the city of Springfield, Ill. Hanson is currently developing a design to improve the city of Springfield’s Capitol Avenue corridor to include a ceremonial drive and a vista to the Illinois Statehouse. Hanson is teaming with RDG Crose Gardner Shukert Inc., Ferry and Associates Architects, and Massie Massie and Associates Inc. for the project.

The Illinois Department of Transportation recently recognized Hanson with an Exceptional Consulting and Engineering Service Award for Highway Structure Projects, Phase II, for its design of the removal and replacement of the Interstate 55 bridges over Lake Springfield in Springfield, Ill.
