New presidential
library nears completion
A monumental,
state-of-the-art presidential
library honoring our nation's 16th president, Abraham Lincoln,
opened Nov. 18, 2002, in Springfield, Ill.-the heart of the land
of Lincoln. The library is part of a $115 million complex that will
feature a museum scheduled to open in 2004.
Hanson's involvement in this historic project includes providing
land acquisition and relocation services, demolition plans, geotechnical
engineering services, surveying and utility coordination and structural
design.

Construction continues on the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.
The library's façade features celina gold-tone limestone quarried
in Egypt and large, open window walls. The library's design also
includes a unique clearstory that will allow natural light to penetrate
the first floor.
