New presidential library nears completion

A monumental, state-of-the-art presidential library honoring our nation's 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, opened Nov. 18, 2002, in Springfield, Ill.-the heart of the land of Lincoln. The library is part of a $115 million complex that will feature a museum scheduled to open in 2004.

Hanson's involvement in this historic project includes providing land acquisition and relocation services, demolition plans, geotechnical engineering services, surveying and utility coordination and structural design.

Construction continues on the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. The library's façade features celina gold-tone limestone quarried in Egypt and large, open window walls. The library's design also includes a unique clearstory that will allow natural light to penetrate the first floor.
