Environmental toxins and LEED 101 workshop scheduled
ORLANDO, Fla.—The Orlando Chapter of the Indoor Air Quality Council (IAQA) is sponsoring an environmental toxins and LEED 101 workshop on Feb. 29 from noon until 4 p.m. at the Dubsdread Country Club, located at 549 W. The cost for those registering in advance is $109 for IAQA members and $119 for non-members. Registration on the day of the event is $129. Continuing education credits will be offered, and the workshop is open to the public.
The first seminar, “The New Environmental Toxins: Infectious Diseases,” is presented by Marlene Linders, R.N., M.S., Associate AIA. Ms. Linders is president and CEO of Philders Group International Inc., and she is the director of the Orlando Chapter of IAQA. Her seminar addresses the risk of disease control and exposure in buildings.
The second seminar, “LEED 101-What Makes a Building Green, Certification Levels and Green Products,” is presented by D. Brent Sauser, AIA, LEED AP, architect with Hanson Professional Services Inc. This seminar promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health.
