Pecori named to U.S. State Department Panel

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Sergio “Satch” Pecori, P.E., president and CEO of Hanson Professional Services Inc., has been selected to serve as a member on the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO). Hanson Professional Services Inc., headquartered in Springfield, Ill., provides engineering, architectural and management services worldwide and operates from 21 offices nationwide.

As one of nine members of the IAP, Pecori will serve in an advisory capacity with respect to industry and academia’s latest concepts, methods, best practices, innovations, and ideas related to property management. The OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure and functional facilities for U.S. diplomatic missions worldwide and to oversee the Department of State’s real property assets. Members of the IAP typically have extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of research and development, design, construction, the environment, seismic issues, emergency operations, security, planning and development, and banking and finance.

Representing the American Council of Engineering Companies, Pecori has nearly 35 years of experience in the engineering industry, designing and managing complex projects throughout the U.S. He also is highly regarded in the technical field, serving as an ambassador for the engineering profession in numerous leadership roles.

Pecori holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
